Hi!
I am a British-American writer, creative, and rather enthusiastic collector of interests. I have a particular affection for art, fashion, literature, history, and just about anything with a peculiar story attached to it.
I spent much of my childhood in North Yorkshire, England, where the medieval architecture, folklore, and rather gruesome history undoubtedly shaped my interests. I’ve since spent much of my adult life in the American South, developing a particular affection for its historic architecture, eccentricities, and slower pace of life.I currently reside on the coast of Florida, where the quiet romance of seaside living offers a peaceful refuge for my imagination to wander and create.
I’m a firm believer that almost everything is worth being curious about. A painting, an old photograph, a dress, a book, or an otherwise insignificant object can send me down a research rabbit hole that lasts several days. I studied Fashion Media, Journalism, and Art History, and have since worked across fashion, editorial storytelling, creative direction, and digital media. My professional experience has taken me from independent brands and my own jewelry design to developing visual identities and creative campaigns for emerging brands.
I have a soft spot for misunderstood women, historical scandals, romanticism, and the occasional existential crisis. I also have a habit of becoming terribly attached to fictional characters.I created this little corner of the internet as somewhere to put all the thoughts that don’t quite fit into an Instagram caption. You’ll find essays, cultural observations, things I’ve been reading, art I’ve been admiring, and whatever else happens to occupy my mind that week. Some of it is serious, some of it is rather frivolous, and I happen to think there’s room for both.
More than anything, I hope this space encourages a little curiosity. To look closer, ask questions, find beauty in unexpected places, and occasionally reconsider something you thought you understood.
